This beautiful climbing mecca hosts some of South Africa's top climbs.  Its distinctive orange rock is not only eye-catching but boasts long and enjoyable routes of all grades.  The very popular annual Roc Rally is hosted here (usually around September).  Climbers from all around the country travel to compete in this well-organized and fun event.

Routes: 521 routes in total, 204 below grade 19, 224 between grades 20-24, 93 above grade 25 (this number is ever increasing thanks to some enthusiastic bolters).

Gear: Sport Rack & 60m rope (70m rope for a few of the longer routes - these are generally of harder grade as well)

Season: Boven has amazing climbing all year round.  With so many crags facing different directions, one can climb in the shade all day if well planned.

Note: The Kruger National Park is within close proximity as well as a number of other fun attractions like quad biking, white water rafting, and many others. There are many wonderful tourist attractions in the near vicinity for which the Barn is able to arrange visits along the way.

Accommodation: Camping, Back Packers Lodge or the Chalet.
